It’s Sweet Summertime!
It’s HOT out here in Atlanta and with the rising temps comes time to pull out the fun, warm-weather fashion. What to wear for your senior session is always top of mind when planning- you want to be comfortable and wear what you love, but sometimes, you want to be able to add a few trendy or seasonal pieces.
Each season, I try and keep up with teens on Instagram and see what’s trending on Pinterest so that I can help guide my seniors on what to wear for their session. I’ve put together a few of my favorite looks for this Summer that can be used for outfit ideas for senior photos or for a day hanging out with friends. They’re stylish and will keep you cool during the hot Georgia Summer.
Tie-Front Tops
Why I love them: They add a bit of interest to an otherwise plain tee.
Cinch-waist pants/shorts
Why I love them: They hug you in the perfect place.
Stripes
Why I love them: They are a classic and scream Summer
Stripes are basically always in style, am I right? Right now, I’m loving light and faded stripes that give off a vintage vibe. Contrast stripes look great paired with lighter tones for an effortless warm-weather look.
Crop Tops w/ High Waist Bottoms
Why I love them: They look chic and flattering on everyone
I love this look! In the Summer, I suggest pairing a longer sleeve with shorts or tank with jeans. It’s fun and flirty but still looks super pulled together. It’s also easy to layer on a jacket to change up the look.
Patterned Midi Skirts
Why I love them: They are fun and cool in the hot Summer days
Skirts are a staple for Summer wardrobes and the prints I’m seeing these days are super cute! Everything from florals to geometric to stripes. They are easy to wear during the hot sticky Summer and pair well with lightweight tops.
Pleated Shorts
Why I love them: They create a cool, throwback vibe
Pleats are back! For shorts at least. This trend is perfect for those who love the fashion of the early 90s. I love the high-waisted ones best and they look great on so many body types. They are a bit slouchy so you’ll stay comfortable in the heat.
Light Wash Denim
Why I love it: It feels light and Summer-y
Is there anything more Summer than a pair of cut-off jean shorts? I am digging the look of light wash denim right now- especially chambray which was popular a few years ago. The lighter blues give that vintage vibe that is so in right now.
Eyelet
Why I love it: It’s a true Summer classic
I have been seeing this pattern EVERYWHERE lately and it’s no surprise- eyelet is as Summer as apple pie and cookouts. I love it with denim and it comes in so many colors now, not just the standard white.
