Have you ever wondered what to expect for senior photos? The timeline, when you should book, when your photos will be ready? You always want to go into an experience knowing the basics of how everything will go. It calms your nerves and helps you manage expectations.
Let’s dive in to the journey when you have a session with Urban Trend!
3-5 weeks before | Book your session
Many photographers book up quickly and that’s definitely one reason to book weeks in advance, but it’s also so that you have plenty of time to prep and plan out your session. If you need a fresh cut, order some new clothes or accessories, 3-5 weeks give you plenty of time to get these things done. Then you can take the last two weeks taking care of your skin and pinning inspiration to your custom Pinterest board. You can see all the ways I help you plan your senior photos in this post.
1-2 weeks before | Final Prep
There are always a few final details to get in order shortly before your session date. This is when I’ll check out your Pinterest board to get an idea of what you want your session to look and feel like. I’ll decide what location would work best and I’ll text you to see if you have any questions or need help with your outfits. I’ll remind you to look over the Prep Guide (mailed to you after you book) to ensure you have everything together.
Session Day!
All of your preparations have led up to your session day! We usually begin makeup around 3:30 in the afternoon here at the studio that is all ready just for you. This takes about an hour during which we are going over outfits, chatting about life, and listening to music to get up pumped. We’ll make sure you 100% happy with your look, then we pack up the cars and head out to our location. I provide a changing tent for you to switch outfits and we have fun looking for fun spots to use and photographing you being you. We’ll do some posed shots and others I simply give you some direction and see what you do naturally.
10-14 days after | Proofs are Ready!
When your proofs are ready to view, I’ll email a link to schedule your viewing/ordering appointment here at the studio. Most people find a date within a week or so that works for them. You’ll view a slideshow of your images, then we’ll narrow down your favorites, go over all of the beautiful ways to display them, and live design anything if need be. It’s super easy as I’ve learned what most clients order and designed my collections to reflect that, grouping the most loved products together so you don’t have to make a million decisions.
1 week after appointment | Mobile App is Ready to Share
99% of my seniors and moms choose a collection that includes the custom mobile app that allows you to share your favorite photos on social media. Every image you purchase goes into this photo app so you can carry all of your favorites right on your phone and download to share to Facebook and Instagram! No waiting until your order comes in to show off your senior photos.
3-4 weeks after appointment | Products Are Ready for Delivery
When your products come in, I’ll inspect everything to make sure it’s perfect, then email you to coordinate a delivery date. As a courtesy to every client, I deliver your order to you. I love seeing the joy and excitement when my moms and seniors see the final product- it’s the best part of my job!
